Frequently Asked Questions

Quick, straight answers to the questions our Kelowna customers ask most β€” about vacuums, central vacuum systems, parts, repairs, and shopping with us.

30+ Years of Experience

We've been serving the Okanagan since 1994. If your question isn't answered below, give us a call at (250) 762-9902 β€” we actually pick up the phone.

Shopping & Orders

Where is Your Vacuum Superstore located?

Your Vacuum Superstore is located at 2121 Springfield Road #9, Kelowna, BC V1Y 7X1.

We've been serving the Okanagan Valley from Kelowna since 1994. Our retail store is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and closed on Sundays.

Can I buy online and pick up in-store?

Yes. You can place an order online and pick it up at our Kelowna store during business hours, usually the same day.

Once your order is ready, we'll send an email confirmation. Bring your order number and a piece of ID to the store and we'll have your items waiting.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and PayPal online, plus cash, debit, and credit cards in-store.

All online transactions are encrypted and processed securely. Payment is required in full before any order ships or is ready for pickup.

Do you price match competitors?

Yes, we'll match the advertised price of any authorized Canadian retailer on identical in-stock products. Just call or email us with the competitor's listing.

Price matching applies to new, authorized Canadian dealers only β€” not marketplace sellers, grey-market imports, or closeout liquidators. We reserve the right to verify the listing before matching.

Is it safe to shop on vacsuperstore.com?

Yes. Our website uses SSL encryption, and we never store credit card information on our servers.

All payments are processed through secure, PCI-compliant gateways. We take your privacy and security seriously and only collect the information needed to process your order.

Shipping & Delivery

Do you offer free shipping?

Yes β€” we offer free shipping on all orders over $99 within Canada.

Orders under $99 are charged a flat shipping rate calculated at checkout based on destination and weight. Free shipping applies to standard ground delivery only.

How long does shipping take?

Most orders ship within 1–2 business days from Kelowna and arrive within 2–10 business days, depending on your location in Canada.

British Columbia and Alberta addresses typically receive orders in 2–5 business days. Central and Eastern Canada takes 5–10 business days. Remote and Northern destinations may take longer. Delivery estimates don't include order processing time or carrier delays.

Do you ship outside of Canada?

At this time we only ship within Canada.

If you're outside Canada and interested in a specific product, contact us directly β€” we may be able to arrange shipping on a case-by-case basis, though the customer is responsible for any customs duties, taxes, or brokerage fees.

Can I track my order?

Yes. Once your order ships, you'll receive an email with a tracking number and a link to the carrier's tracking page.

If you haven't received a shipping confirmation within 2 business days of placing your order, please check your spam folder first, then contact us.

What if my package arrives damaged?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery and we'll arrange a replacement or full refund at no cost to you.

Please photograph the damaged packaging and the product before contacting us β€” this helps us process your claim faster and work with the shipping carrier.

Returns & Warranty

What is your return policy?

We offer a 30-day return window on most products. Items must be unused, in original packaging, with proof of purchase, and we do not charge restocking fees.

See our full Return Policy for complete details on conditions, mail return instructions, and refund options.

How do I return an item I bought online?

The easiest option is to bring it to our Kelowna store. If you prefer to mail it, contact us first to receive return instructions.

Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is damaged or defective. We recommend using a trackable shipping method.

Do your products come with a warranty?

Yes. Most vacuums we sell come with a manufacturer warranty ranging from 1 to 10 years, depending on the brand and model.

Warranty terms are set by each manufacturer. We're an authorized service provider for most major brands, which means we can handle warranty claims and repairs in-house without you having to ship your vacuum elsewhere.

How long is the warranty on a new Miele vacuum?

Most Miele vacuums come with a 7-year warranty on the motor and casing, and a 1-year warranty on parts and labour, when purchased from an authorized dealer like us.

We're an authorized Miele dealer in Kelowna, so your warranty is registered and honoured at our store. Warranty details may vary slightly by model β€” always check your purchase paperwork for specifics.

Repairs & Service

Do you repair vacuums that weren't bought from your store?

Yes. We repair vacuums from almost any brand, regardless of where they were purchased.

Our technicians work on canister, upright, cordless, central, and commercial vacuums. Bring it into our Kelowna store for a free diagnosis and quote before any work is performed.

How much does a vacuum repair cost?

Most vacuum repairs range from $40 to $150, depending on the issue and parts required. We always provide a diagnosis and quote before doing any work.

Common repairs include replacing belts, brushes, cords, hoses, and motors. If the quoted repair exceeds the value of the vacuum, we'll let you know so you can decide whether to repair or replace.

How long does a vacuum repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 3–7 business days, depending on parts availability.

Common parts are usually in stock. For specialty or discontinued parts, we'll give you an estimated timeline when we provide the quote.

Do you offer in-home central vacuum service?

Yes. We offer in-home service calls for central vacuum systems throughout the Kelowna area and much of the Central Okanagan.

Service calls include diagnosis, motor replacement, hose and pipe repairs, and full system checkups. Contact us at (250) 762-9902 to schedule a visit.

Central Vacuums

What is a central vacuum system?

A central vacuum is a built-in cleaning system where the motor and dirt canister are installed in a utility area (like a garage or basement) and connected to wall inlets throughout the home.

Instead of hauling a vacuum around, you plug a lightweight hose into any inlet and clean. Central vacuums offer much stronger suction, quieter operation, and better indoor air quality than portable vacuums because dust is carried away from living areas entirely.

How much does it cost to install a central vacuum?

A complete central vacuum installation typically costs between $1,200 and $3,500, depending on the size of the home, number of inlets, and system model.

New construction is usually cheaper than retrofitting an existing home. Contact us for a free in-home quote β€” we install throughout Kelowna and the Central Okanagan.

Can I add a central vacuum to an existing house?

Yes. Retrofit installations are common and work in most homes, including those with finished basements and multiple floors.

Our installers run the PVC pipe through wall cavities, attics, or basements depending on the layout. A typical retrofit takes 1–2 days and includes 3–5 inlets plus the power unit.

How long do central vacuums last?

A well-maintained central vacuum typically lasts 20 years or more, with the motor being the main wear item.

Motor replacement every 10–15 years is common and much cheaper than replacing the whole unit. The pipes, inlets, and housing are essentially lifetime components.

Parts & Compatibility

Do you carry replacement parts for old or discontinued vacuums?

Yes. We stock over 200 different parts and can often source older or discontinued parts directly from manufacturers.

Bring your vacuum (or the broken part, or the model number) into our Kelowna store and we'll identify the right replacement. If it's not in stock, we'll order it.

How do I know which vacuum bag fits my machine?

Check your vacuum's model number (usually on a sticker on the bottom or back) and match it to the bag packaging. If you're not sure, bring an old bag into our store and we'll match it.

You can also call us at (250) 762-9902 with your vacuum brand and model, and we'll tell you which bag you need and whether we have it in stock.

Do you sell HEPA filters?

Yes. We carry HEPA filters for most major brands, including Miele, Dyson, Kenmore, Hoover, Sebo, Riccar, and more.

HEPA filters capture 99.97% of particles down to 0.3 microns, making them ideal for allergy and asthma sufferers. We recommend replacing HEPA filters every 6–12 months for best performance.

Are generic (aftermarket) parts as good as OEM?

It depends on the part and the brand. For bags and filters, quality aftermarket options can be just as good and significantly cheaper. For motors, belts, and electrical components, we always recommend OEM.

When you bring a part into our store, we'll show you both options (when available) and honestly tell you what we'd use on our own vacuums.

About Your Vacuum Superstore

How long has Your Vacuum Superstore been in business?

Your Vacuum Superstore has been serving the Okanagan Valley from our Kelowna location since 1994 β€” over 30 years.

We're a family-owned independent retailer and service shop, not a franchise or chain. Our team has decades of combined experience with vacuums, central vacuum systems, and home cleaning products.

Which brands do you carry?

We carry over 30 vacuum brands, including Miele, Dyson, Sebo, Riccar, Simplicity, Kirby, Hoover, Bissell, Beam, Cyclo Vac, Canavac, and many more.

We focus on quality brands we can stand behind β€” ones we can service in-house and get parts for years after purchase. If you're looking for a specific brand not listed on our site, give us a call and we'll let you know if we can get it.

Why buy from a local store instead of Amazon or a big box retailer?

When you buy from us you get expert advice, in-house warranty service, and a real person who'll help troubleshoot problems β€” plus you're supporting a local Okanagan business.

Big box stores and online marketplaces can't repair what they sell. Many are grey-market imports that void the manufacturer's warranty. We sell authorized, warranty-backed products and we're here to service them for their full lifespan.

Do you offer trade-ins on old vacuums?

Yes, we occasionally offer trade-in discounts on qualifying vacuums when you purchase a new machine. Contact us for current offers.

Trade-in value depends on the brand, model, age, and condition. Even if your old vacuum has no trade value, we can recycle it responsibly rather than having it end up in landfill.
